The course covers the basics of: what data analysis is & why it’s important, what a data analyst does & the skills they need, how to gather, clean & organize data so it’s ready to use, how to look at data to find trends, patterns & useful insights and how to share findings clearly, using charts, graphs & simple explanations.

You will gain a strong foundation for progressing onto Level 3 qualifications, or other IT or data-related qualifications.

Upon completion, you will be able to understand data analysis, know the role of a data analyst, be able to gather & organise data, be able to interpret data by spotting trends, patterns & insights, present data clearly, make decisions using data and show examples of data work.

1. You must currently live in the Great London Area (GLA). If you live in GLA you must evidence you have permission to remain here for the next 365 days. You must have residency to be in the UK/EEA for the purposes other than study when enrolling onto the course.
2. You must be over the age of 19 or older (on 31 August 2025) and be able to fully commit to this course.
3. You must have the relevant ID to register for this course. (passport, visa/permit, birth certificate or driving licence and proof of address within the last 3 months)
4. You must not have done this qualification at the same or higher level previously.

The course is delivered remotely and you will need a laptop or computer to be able to access and study on this course.
