Course Units

What will I learn?

The course is divided into the following units:

Unit 1

Awareness of special educational needs - child development and wellbeing 

Unit 2

Child development & welfare - supporting children and young people with special educational needs 

Unit 3

Developing skills to promote positive working relationships - promoting children and young people’s positive behaviour 

Unit 4

Promoting positive behaviour in children & young people - working with individuals and groups of learners

Unit 5

Providing support for individual learners & small groups - positive working relationships 

Unit 6

Understanding the HLTA role - curriculum planning, monitoring, delivery and assessment 

This course is delivered online by award-winning training provider LMP Education.  
 
You must have a line manager, supervisor or qualified person to carry out written formal testimonies. 

On Completion

Upon completion, you will gain a Level 4 Certificate in Higher Level Teaching Assistant RQF from the awarding body TQUK. 

This qualification will enable you to take on roles such as Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Specialist Support Assistant, and Support for Specialist Curriculum Areas. 

Eligibility Criteria
  1. You need to be employed in a school as a teaching assistant. 
  2. You must be over the age of 18 and able to fully commit to the course. 
  3. You must have the relevant ID to register for this course
  4. You must not have done this qualification at the same level previously.

The course is delivered remotely via LMP Education.
You will need a laptop or computer to be able to access and study on this course.
